Oh, South Florida! Full of personality, humidity and lots of vacationers with sunburns. I grew up in South Florida, about 30 minutes north of Miami, and I love how familiar it feels while also feeling so different each time I visit. Here are a few of my favorite places - happy exploring!
First of all - it's FREE! Many of the walls change over time so it's a unique experience whenever you stop in. Not only is the inside full of art, but the streets around it are full of artist's paintings. It's a beautiful part of the city full of hidden gems– a must see! This location is great if you're looking to update your profile picture or want a colorful Instagram post (guilty!).
Right around the block from Wynwood Walls is Zak the Baker, about a 2 minute walk! This location is full of delicious pastries, dessert and coffee. The perfect way to start your morning before the walls open.
David and I are always looking for some authentic Italian food wherever we go! Well, in Miami, look no further! This place is nothing short of amazing and will whisk your taste buds right back to Southern Italy. You also won't break the bank while enjoying all the pizza and pasta your stomach can fit.
Speaking of Italy, you will literally feel as if you've been transported to Venice walking around this gorgeous house and gardens. It still amazes me how you feel as if you're no longer in America as you walk around the estate. Pictures truly don't do it justice and it's an absolute must while in Miami!
What a fun experience! Walk through "Calle Ocho" and you will see people playing dominoes, cigar rollers creating beautiful cigars and lots of Cuban coffee. It's such a fun and relaxing environment as you walk through yet another amazing culture!
Here are some great coffee shops to check out in the South Florida Area:
Also, I would definitely check out Funky Buddha Brewery - delicious beer, fun tours and surprisingly tasty food!
Helpful tip: Most of Miami will allow you to pay for parking through an app. Download the PayByPhone app (ParkMobile for South Beach) to save some time when parking in the Miami area.
