Out of every state in the US, I have always wanted to visit California the most. So when David and I had the opportunity to go, we jumped on it. It was a bit of a whirlwind trip which left us wanting more but wow – California is beautiful!
We started Friday in LA and visited the Santa Monica Pier which, if I'm being honest, is skippable if you're on a time crunch. Yes, it's iconic and fun to see but LA has a lot to offer, and this was probably my least favorite experience of the day though still fun. Afterwards we drove to see the Hollywood sign (because did you even go to LA if you don't get to see it?). I'd love to hike behind it in the future, but when you're pressed for time, you gotta do what you gotta do.
We then whizzed on over to the Getty Center which we could easily spend an entire day in. Between all the art, the architecture of the buildings themselves and the gorgeous grounds, just wow. If you can fit it into your schedule, I would highly recommend checking it out. Next we hopped on over to the Griffith Observatory where (once we actually found a parking spot - be prepared!) we felt like we were in La La Land. We got to catch the sunset here and it was perfection. The cityscape was nothing short of breathtaking!
After those amazing veiws we stopped by for a quick bite to eat at Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles, and then the super tourist in me just had to take a picture at Urban Light. When we arrived it was pretty busy, but we still managed to squeeze in a few good pictures.
We left straight from there to LAX for our flight to San Francisco which I will share about in a second post. Be on the look out!
